Coming from the goth design team at Alchemy UK is their ‘Name of the Rose’ artwork.
This gorgeous bag is made from stiff PVC which means it holds its shape well. It has an integrated handle and optional shoulder chain. The front flap, edged with silver filigree detailing, folds over the whole bag making it super secure. The main body of the bag has a zippered closure, inside – a zippered compartment and two pockets.
The central image is a woman holding a silver bejewelled chalice. She’s standing in vaulted hallway – reminiscent of a church – the sun streaming in the windows behind her. Her flowing brown locks are interweaved with jewels and she’s wearing a purple corset. Threaded through the fingers of one hand are – what look like – the beads of a rosary. I’m guessing this artwork has been inspired by the Umberto Eco novel ‘Name of the Rose’ which is set in a monastry. It has all the gothic glory of a bygone era.
